What we collect
When you contact us
Your name, email, company, website, the service you're interested in, your budget range and your message.
When you buy a domain
Your name, company (if you give one), postal address, email address and phone number, the domain you buy, what you paid, and when you agreed to our terms. Registries require these details for every domain registration.
When you pay
Stripe collects your card details directly on its own payment page. We never see or store your card number. Stripe tells us whether the payment worked.
Why we use it
- To register and manage your domain, because that's the contract you asked us to carry out.
- To reply to your enquiry, because it's in our legitimate interests to answer people who contact us.
- To keep financial records, because the law requires it.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, because it's in our and our customers' legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
- Name.com, the registrar that registers your domain, and the registry for your domain's ending, which both need your details to register it.
- Stripe, which processes payments.
- Netlify, which hosts this website and stores contact form messages and domain orders.
- Microsoft, which provides our email.
- Google, which serves the fonts on this site and so receives your IP address when pages load.
We don't sell your data, and we don't use it for advertising.
Public domain records
Registries publish some details about each domain in public lookup services (WHOIS and RDAP). We switch on privacy protection wherever your domain's ending supports it, which hides your personal details from those lookups. Some endings don't allow it.
Data outside the UK
Name.com, Stripe, Netlify and Google may process your data in the United States. [Confirm the safeguard each provider uses, for example the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.]
How long we keep it

Your rights

Cookies
This website doesn't set tracking or advertising cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on its payment page to process payments and prevent fraud.
