Buying a domain from us
These terms apply when you buy a domain registration on this website. Our other services are covered by the agreement we send you for that work.
Who registers it
We resell domain registrations. Your domain is registered through Name.com, an ICANN-accredited registrar, and managed in our Name.com account for you. When you buy, you also agree to Name.com's Registration Agreement and the rules of the registry that runs your domain's ending. ICANN's Registrants' Benefits and Responsibilities sets out your rights and duties as a domain holder.
The domain is yours
- You're named as the registrant, so you legally hold the domain, not us.
- You must give accurate, current contact details and tell us when they change. Registries can suspend or cancel domains registered with false details.
- The registry or registrar may email you to confirm your details. If you don't respond, usually within 15 days, the domain can be suspended until you do.
Price and payment
- Prices are in pounds. We work them out from the registrar's US dollar price at that day's exchange rate. [Prices include VAT / We aren't VAT registered, so no VAT is charged.]
- You pay the price shown when you press Pay. If it changes before then, we show you the new price and ask you to confirm it.
- Stripe takes the payment. We never see or store your card details.
Registration
We start registering your domain as soon as your payment is confirmed. A registration lasts one year. If someone else registers the name before we finish, we refund you in full.
Your right to cancel
If you're buying as a consumer, you'd normally have 14 days to cancel. When you buy a domain, you ask us to register it straight away and confirm that you lose that right once it's registered, because a registration can't be undone. If you ask us to cancel before the registration completes, we refund you in full.
Refunds
Once your domain is registered, we can't refund it, except where the law requires it or where we've made a mistake.
Renewals
[Describe your renewal process before going live. For example: we'll email you at least 30 days before your domain expires, with the renewal price at that day's exchange rate. If you don't renew, the domain expires, and after the registry's grace period someone else may be able to register it.]
Moving your domain
You can move your domain to another provider. Ask us and we'll send you the transfer authorisation code within [5] working days. Transfers are locked for 60 days after a new registration or a change of registrant.
How you use it
Don't use your domain for anything illegal, for spam, phishing or malware, or to infringe anyone else's rights. We, Name.com or the registry can suspend a domain used that way, or where a court, regulator or dispute decision requires it.
Disputes over a name
If someone claims rights in your domain name, the registry's dispute policy applies. For most endings that's ICANN's Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy (UDRP). For .uk domains it's Nominet's Dispute Resolution Service.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't let us limit. Otherwise, our total liability for a domain order is limited to what you paid for it. We aren't responsible for outages or decisions by registries, Name.com or other third parties we don't control.

Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you're a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.
